Kroměříž - The Kroměříž town hall is preparing the renovation of old sports facilities and the construction of new sports facilities in the area on Obvodová Street. The project, which is conditional on obtaining European funds, includes, among other things, the reconstruction of the swimming pool and the ice rink. The investment will amount to approximately 110 million crowns. The plan has already been approved by the representatives, said Mayor Daniela Hebnarová (ODS) to reporters today.
From the financial framework of the project, it follows that a private investor will build a sports complex, including a tennis hall, for 33 million. Of the remaining 77 million crowns, nearly 58 million crowns should come from European funds, and over 19 million crowns will be contributed by the city. If the grant is awarded, the work should take place from 2012 to 2015.
"We mainly want to focus on the ice rink and the swimming pool, which are already old. They were built during the 'Action Z', which means 40 years ago. There are enormous energy costs that could be reduced," Hebnarová explained.
The project includes, for example, reducing the depth of the pool from four meters to 1.8 meters, reconstructing the floors in the hall, installing underfloor heating, and placing two whirlpools. It will also be necessary to reconstruct the water distribution system, replace windows, repair the terrace, floors in the showers, and address barrier-free access to the pool.
The ice rink building could also receive cladding and insulation, including window replacement, reconstruction of the refrigeration machine room, and dehumidification system. The project also includes the reconstruction of locker rooms. Additionally, the project encompasses the construction of new sports facilities behind the ice rink, skate and bike parks, climbing walls, and an ice rink, along with new sidewalks and parking lots.
