Krnov (Bruntál region) - A part of the area of the bankrupt Krnov company Karnola may transform into a technical museum. The intention to establish it was approved by the representatives of Krnov, who would also like to set up a restaurant, cultural hall, library, and hostel in three buildings of the former textile factory. Dita Círová, the spokesperson for Krnov, said this to ČTK.

The buildings, which are declared as cultural monuments, are included in the bankruptcy estate of Karnola. "We are determining the conditions for the sale to the ownership of the city with the bankruptcy trustee. We also count on extensive reconstruction, which should cost around 120 million crowns," the spokesperson specified.
The councilors want to obtain funds for the repairs from European Union funds. "The museum will have a regional character, so we believe the chance of obtaining a grant is high," specified the deputy mayor of Krnov, Jaroslav Vrzal.
The exhibitions should present the history of organ building and textiles across the entire Silesia region, and the city wants to collaborate with experts from Poland, Austria, and Germany in their preparation.
According to the plans, the museum should be as lively as possible to attract not only those interested in technology and history but also tourists and youth. "The looms placed in the showroom are still functional, so experienced weavers should demonstrate work on them, and visitors could also try their skills in this field," Círová said. The exhibition of organs also offers practical use, as organ concerts could take place there, for example.
