Kralupy n. V. – Kralupy nad Vltavou are selecting a contractor for the reconstruction of the brewery into a cultural center, having received a European grant of 200 million crowns for it. The total cost will be about 500 million crowns. Work is set to begin in the spring, said Aleš Levý, spokesman for the Kralupy town hall, to ČTK.

The city announced the tender last fall, and companies could submit their bids until last week. According to Levý, the selection process will take place this week. "The reconstruction should start in the spring (April)," he stated. The construction is expected to last 26 months according to the tender requirements. Thus, the construction work should be completed in 2025.

The building of the former brewery malt house stands in the center of Kralupy. After reconstruction, it will serve as a home for children and youth, a library, a museum, and a basic art school, which is currently operating in several different buildings. The cultural center will also include commercial spaces, which could serve as a café, restaurant, and microbrewery. A flat for the property manager is also planned to be created.
