Moravská Třebová

Moravská Třebová - The follow-up care hospital in Moravská Třebová in the Svitavy region, which the region plans to build, will cost around 150 million crowns. It is expected to be completed by 2020. It will include an emergency service station. This was stated today by Governor Martin Netolický (ČSSD). The region rejected the purchase of the existing building, which it rents from a private company. According to the governor's office, the price was three times higher than the expert opinion commissioned by the region.

"The construction of a new modern healthcare facility that meets the standards of the 21st century is currently our clear priority. We expect financial coverage for this amount in 2019 and 2020, combining the region’s own resources and a loan,"
said the governor.

The region is now negotiating with the city regarding the transfer of the land on which the building will be situated. At the same time, it will take over the polyclinic building that also stands on the land. There used to be a building for the former children's department on the plot. The city did not find a use for it for more than ten years and demolished it.

"We want to be sure that if we transfer the polyclinic building and the land for free, a facility for healthcare and social services will actually be created in these spaces. Therefore, we are currently negotiating mutual compensations and guarantees with the region,"
said Mayor Miloš Izák (ČSSD).

The new hospital will have 90 follow-up care beds, ten more than currently. The project includes a catering operation, rehabilitation services, a biochemistry laboratory, and an emergency service station with parking for ambulances.

"The city will not lose its healthcare facility; on the contrary, we will elevate it to a much higher level. Moreover, there will be only one operator and owner of the buildings, which will be the Pardubický region," said regional councilor Ladislav Valtr (ODS).

The governor's office operates the hospital in rented premises. Three owners of the company that owns the hospital buildings are also employees of the hospital, and this has been the case since 1994. This is an unfinished privatization. The city stopped it after a while and instead entered into a limited partnership with individuals. Later, it sold its share. The hospital owners previously stated that they did not want to comment on the negotiations with the region.

According to the region's statement, the owners have an assessment that valued the real estate and movable property at up to 80 million crowns. The region has two assessments that valued the property at a maximum of 26 million crowns. Moreover, according to the governor, the buildings will need to be repaired, which would require additional tens of millions.
