The construction of the new hospital in Moravská Třebová is no longer obstructed

The construction is expected to cost approximately 150 million crowns excluding VAT. Construction could begin in the autumn of 2019, and it should be completed by the end of 2020.

"The cost of repairs is nearly equal to the cost of a new building," stated the Deputy Governor Roman Línek (Coalition for Pardubice Region).

The region will acquire land from Moravská Třebová where a children's department building used to be located. The city has not found a use for it in over ten years and demolished it. At the same time, it will take over the polyclinic building, which is also on the site. The new hospital will have 90 rehabilitation beds, ten more than currently. The project will include a catering service, rehabilitation, a biochemistry laboratory, and an ambulance service station including space for emergency vehicles.

"This plan is the best thing that could happen to the city. We will get a new modern facility that we have been waiting for a long time," stated the mayor of Moravská Třebová, Miloš Izák (CSSD).

The region operates the hospital in rented properties. Three owners of the company that owns the hospital buildings are also employees of the hospital, and this has been the case since 1994. The city halted the privatization of the buildings in the 1990s; instead, it entered into a limited partnership with individuals and later sold its share.

According to the region's statements, the owners have an appraisal that valued the properties and movable items at up to 80 million crowns. The region has two appraisals that valued the property at a maximum of 26 million crowns. Additionally, it will be necessary to repair the buildings, which would require several tens of millions more. The owners of the hospital previously stated that they did not wish to comment on negotiations with the region.
