FROM DARKNESS TO LIGHT TO THE RING TO THE MYSTERY OF THE CRATER TO THE SYMBOL OF THE PATH FROM DARKNESS
BUILDING LAYERS: 1. GROUND FLOOR – SERVICE / Restrooms, staff facilities 2. GROUND FLOOR – ENTRANCE / Foyer, café, temporary exhibition – everything open / Hall – leads into the volcano / Permanent exhibition – from the foyer I ascend towards the light through a long “blackbox” - an inclined tube - to the circular walkway. 3. GROUND FLOOR – WALKWAY
MATERIALS AND CONSTRUCTION: Steel trusses – a circle with a diameter of 156m, inscribed in the crater, anchored to the terrain at three points, max. beam L = 120m, height of the structure 6m Shell – corten Floors – poured asphalt
VIEWPOINT The viewpoint outside of the crater, overlooking the surrounding landscape, is accessed solely through the terrain, a natural path that connects to the museum's ring.
