Ústí nad Labem - The mayor of Ústí nad Labem, Petr Nedvědický (ANO), estimates the cost of repairing the southern wing of the town hall at more than 100 million crowns. The city already has a project for the interior spaces, where a counter center will be created. In the past, the city announced a public tender, but later canceled it because no one applied. According to the local government, it is now necessary to complete the project for the repair of the external part of the building; the municipal office has allocated five million crowns for the project documentation.
The development of the project will take about a year, and according to Nedvědický, it will take half a year to select a contractor. "I estimate that we will start with the repair of the envelope around 2025," he said. A little later, the construction of the counter center could also begin. "Today, it is not possible to implement the project on its own, as it would not meet the energy leakage requirements," the mayor stated. He noted that the original project for the workplace, where the department for personal documents will also move, does not need to be redone. However, the estimated cost of construction will increase. "Without the external envelope of the building, there is no point in building anything inside," he added.
In addition to the counter workplace, plans include building warehouses and archives, purchasing equipment and information systems. The reconstructed spaces will primarily serve the administrative and trade department, the cash office, and the submission office. It will also include a monitoring station for the municipal police and Czech Point.
The reconstruction of the external part will include the repair of the structure, exterior walls, roof, windows, and entrance doors. The goal is for the building to meet the parameters of an energy-efficient structure with alternative sources.
