Pardubice - The head of the department of the chief architect of the Pardubice city hall, Pavla Pannová, is ending her position. The council approved a proposal for her dismissal on the grounds that they were not satisfied with her work, said Deputy Helena Dvořáčková (ANO) at today’s council meeting. However, Pannová herself resigned from her position today, effective November 30. She accused the city leadership of putting obstacles in her way. "Since February, we have regularly addressed some unfulfilled tasks from the chief architect's department at management meetings. The control committee also pointed out unfulfilled resolutions of the council and the board in its report from June 30," Dvořáčková stated, adding that she had repeatedly alerted Pannová to the deficiencies. The secretary Michal Zitko was tasked with ensuring the dismissal of the department head. In his opinion, the secretary should decide on the dismissal of senior officials, not the council, and legal obligations must be met for this. Pannová stated that there had been tense relations between her and the city leadership for a long time. "I came to the office to create, but for the past year I have only been fulfilling impossible tasks, defending work that has long been completed, deflecting reprimands from the managing deputy, or, from my perspective, unsolid scolding at management meetings in front of colleagues and a certain degradation,” she declared in an emotional speech. According to her, this reflects the city hall leadership’s reluctance to work with her, which is why she resigned herself. Councilor Milan Košař and other councilors pointed out that the chief architect’s department is already understaffed, and the city is preparing a new zoning plan. Pannová had previously held the position of chief architect, finishing in 2002 when the chief architect’s department was dissolved, and for several years it was substituted by the department of development and strategy.
