Prague - By 2020, public investments from the budget of the city district and the capital city worth almost one billion crowns are planned in Žižkov. The city's press spokesperson Michaela Luňáčková informed CTK about this. This year, three squares in Žižkov will undergo transformations, a new kindergarten will be built in Jarov, and the reconstruction of Husitská and Koněvova streets will begin.

By May, the reconstruction of Komenského Square at the corner of Roháčova and Českobratrská streets, which began last fall, should be completed. The square, which previously served as a parking lot, will have greenery and new furniture added. According to the district budget, the total cost of the project is 49.8 million crowns.

Another public space that will be renovated is Kostnické Square between Husitská and Seifertova streets. It will be reconstructed for 37 million crowns, and the repairs are expected to be completed in October. By the end of the year, the Barikád Square will also open after reconstruction, complete with a new children's playground. The project cost is 12.3 million crowns.

In the spring, a two-year reconstruction of Husitská and Koněvova streets will begin. The renovations, costing 70 million crowns, will be financed by the capital city. The reconstruction will include repairs to the road surfaces, parking lanes, and sidewalks. Additionally, drainage, furniture, and greenery will also be adjusted.

In March, the city district will start building a new kindergarten on Jarov in Buková Street. The school will offer one hundred places. Estimated costs are around 35 million crowns. Previously, there was a kindergarten in Buková Street that offered special services to sick and allergic children. However, the building was in poor condition, and the town hall decided to demolish it. This step was criticized by local residents and the opposition.

This year, Prague 3 will complete repairs on panel apartment buildings in Roháčova Street. In the coming years, the town hall will continue with the reconstruction of panel apartment buildings in the Olšanské Square area. The city district also plans to reconstruct the building of the former school next to the town hall. The reason is the effort to place all office departments around Havlíčkovo Square. The cost of the reconstruction is approximately 200 million crowns.
