Brno – The Trauma Hospital in Brno has new insulation, facade, roof, and windows on one of its buildings for 52 million crowns, as well as air-conditioned outpatient and patient rooms. This was stated today by director Zdeněk Buštík and the deputy mayor Petr Hladík (KDU-ČSL) to ČTK. The investment will improve the comfort of patients and staff and will bring energy savings, according to Hladík, with savings exceeding one million crowns per year.
The reconstruction of the building at Ponávka 10, which houses outpatient and inpatient rooms, began last November and was completed recently. "A completely new roof with insulation has been installed, more than 150 windows have been replaced, the building has new insulation and facade," said Hladík.
"Air conditioning is available on all seven floors, both in patient rooms and in outpatient clinics," stated Buštík. He added that the city provided 44 million and eight million came from the State Environmental Fund. According to Hladík, the investment will bring better comfort to patients and staff. "The building was old, uninsulated and had old windows. It was cold in winter, hot in summer, and it was difficult to breathe properly. The windows also have external blinds that prevent heat from entering," said Hladík. He also sees positives in the energy savings, which should exceed one million crowns within a year.
The Trauma Hospital in Brno is established by the city. According to Buštík, the facility has around 500 employees and an annual turnover of about 550 million crowns. The hospital performs over 7,000 surgeries each year.
