Brno did not find a buyer for the building in the area of the former slaughterhouses

Brno - Brno has not yet found a buyer for the reconstruction and sale of the building in the vast complex of the former city slaughterhouse on Masná Street. In November, it announced a tender for the sale of the building where a water tower used to be, but no one applied for it. The head of the city company Brněnské komunikace, Arne Žurek, which currently owns the complex, told ČTK.
    "No bids were submitted for this tender, and the tender is currently closed," Žurek stated.
    Brno wants to sell the buildings in the area, which spans about 500 square meters; according to the city's vision, cultural spaces, studios, or possibly offices could be established there.
    Some buildings of the former industrial complex by the Svitava River were constructed at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. The municipal slaughterhouse gradually ceased operations in Brno in the 1980s and 1990s.
