Brno – The Brno city council announced a tender for the director of the Museum of the City of Brno, which is responsible for places like Špilberk Castle. This was stated in a press release by the city's spokesperson Filip Poňuchálek. The museum has been led by Pavel Ciprian for 17 years, and his current five-year term has now ended. Applications will be accepted until the end of February.

The museum is a scientific, professional, and culturally educational organization that takes care of the cultural heritage of the city, such as Špilberk or the Tugendhat Villa. "The current director has completed his five-year term, and for this reason, as well as for other contribution organizations of the city, we are announcing a tender for his position," stated the deputy mayor Tomáš Koláčný (Pirates).

The selection committee, appointed by the council today, consists of 12 members. Six members are professional representatives, including two representatives from the Tugendhat and Löw-Beer families. "In light of the responses from the cultural public, and especially because of the complexity of managing such a large and thematically broad institution as the Museum of the City of Brno, applications will be accepted until February 28, 2021," stated the councilor for culture Marek Fišer (Pirates). Applicants must attach a concept for the development strategy of the institution for the next five years to their application. The city will advertise the position on various internet cultural portals.
