The Brno skyscraper AZ Tower rises to the sky

Brno - The Brno AZ Tower, which at 111 meters will be the tallest building in the Czech Republic, has completed the first phase of construction. Workers are finishing the ceiling structures above the second underground level, which is designated for parking. By the end of the year, eight above-ground floors are expected to rise. The investor AZ Tower announced this today in a press release.
Workers have also installed 109 piles with prepared pipes for heat pumps in the concreted foundation slab at a depth of 30 - 35 meters. Four tower cranes are working on the construction site. The tallest of these will be connected to the building's tower and will grow together with it. Its final height is expected to be 135 meters, allowing it to operate on the highest floors of the building.
"By the end of the year, the eighth above-ground floor will be completed, so all Brno residents will be able to see well where the AZ Tower is located," said project manager and chairman of the AZ Tower board Jan Skoupý.
According to him, the project is also doing well economically. The greatest interest is in residential apartments on the top floors of the building. Out of a total of twelve apartments ranging in size from 56 square meters to 320 square meters, only four remain available. The price of the apartments starts at 68,000 crowns per square meter.
Companies in information technology, construction, insurance, and financial services have the greatest interest in the offices. There will also be law offices, a fitness center, a rehabilitation center, and a language school.
The Brno skyscraper AZ Tower, together with the transmitter, will measure 111 meters in height. Upon completion, it will be the tallest building in the Czech Republic. Builders plan for it to be finished by mid-2013. This project aims to compete with the company PPF in Prague, which intends to build the two tallest Czech skyscrapers in Prague's Chodov. The taller of these is expected to be 138 meters.
