Brno - The Brno skyscraper AZ Tower will become the tallest building in the country probably only in the second half of March. Builders are completing the installation of a seven-meter steel structure at the top of the building. Petr Teplý from the Properity company, which is one of the investors in the project, said this to ČTK today. Originally, the skyscraper was supposed to reach its final height of 111 meters by the end of last year. The entire construction is expected to cost 800 million crowns. According to Teplý, investors have already sold about 60 percent of all spaces in the skyscraper. Many individuals and companies prefer to buy rather than rent. "In this we are unique, I think. Elsewhere, companies can rent office space, we also offer them for sale," he stated. Buyers are also choosing apartments. There were 17 apartments on offer, only two are still available. Priced at 16 million crowns excluding VAT, the largest one, a duplex apartment of 330 square meters, has already been sold and will be located on the 28th and 29th floors of the building. The first to third floors of the skyscraper will feature a shopping arcade including a restaurant and fitness center covering 1350 square meters, as well as a car showroom with a service station. The remaining floors will consist of offices, with the technical facilities located on the top thirtieth floor. In the two underground levels, 275 cars will be parked. Currently, the tallest building in the Czech Republic is the City Tower office tower in Prague's Pankrác. It measures 109 meters and has 27 above-ground floors. The ECM company completed the building in 2008, with the latest available investment data being approximately 90 million euros (now about 2.3 billion crowns).
