[1:1] WORKSHOP is an educational event for architecture and design students focused on the design and implementation of wooden structures in public space. The sixth edition of the event will take place from August 13 to 24, 2018, again at a new location, this time in the city park in Lučenec. The main goal of the [1:1] WORKSHOP is to break students out of the stereotypical work during the semester and provide them with an experience of real scale and material. Participants will experience an intensive process of design and the subsequent construction of a structure. The packed 11-day program full of activities, lectures, and discussions begins with analyses, sketches, and models, continues with the design of a specific concept and its construction solution, and ends with the realization of the proposed structure. Under the guidance of foreign lecturers, students will acquire practical skills as well as the ability to work in a team, debate, and manage a project from the ideation to the realization phase. Uwo, the result of the 2016 event, was nominated last year for the Ce Za Ar Architecture Award in the exterior category.
