Rem Koolhaas

Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas was invited last week to participate in a conference in support of the European Union. Koolhaas, along with 11 other prominent figures from the European scene, took part in a discussion addressing crucial questions about the future of the EU.
Spanish Prime Minister Filipe Gonzales was named as the leading figure of the discussion group. Together with Jorma Ollila, the director of Nokia, and Lithuanian President Vaira Vike-Freiberga, they called on nine other names, including Koolhaas, to participate in a discussion dealing with the main contemporary topics: economy, globalization, energy, and climate change. One of the goals of the discussion was to find a way for the EU to better reflect the needs of the citizens of member states in the period from 2020 to 2030.
