Plečnik's Ljubljana in Architectural Sketches

The Ostrava House of Art is gradually opening to the public after a five-month reconstruction of its basement spaces. The opening of the exhibition Plečnik's Ljubljana in Architectural Sketches from the Private Collection of Dr. Damjan Prelovšek will take place on Thursday, December 19, 2013, at 5:00 PM. The exhibition presents several architectural designs that Josip Plečnik dedicated to his native Ljubljana, primarily from the period after his tenure at Prague Castle. Drawing was a fundamental means for Plečnik's architecture. His natural ability for graphic expression was remarkable; with a few simple lines, he could convey the essence of his ideas. Le Corbusier also expressed his admiration for him in this regard. The exhibition will be open until February 16, 2014.
