A generously conceived exhibition by curator Helena Čapková in the architectural installation of David Vávra will present the life and fascinating scope of the work of Bedřich Feuerstein. For the first time, Feuerstein's work in architecture, scenography, theater costume, as well as graphic, applied, and furniture design will be presented in a cohesive form. The exhibition will be on view from November 10, 2021. At the exhibition, visitors will also see a wide range of paintings that are not usually exhibited, which will be complemented by artworks from his contemporaries. Audio and video recordings will commemorate his work for film, Feuerstein's essay writing and lecturing activities, and his collaboration with poets and musicians. It will be possible to glimpse into the family background of Bedřich Feuerstein and items that he used or purchased during his travels will be displayed. The curator of the exhibition, Helena Čapková, will also pay attention to Feuerstein's engagement in World War I, his time in France (1920–26) and Japan (1926–30), as well as his work in theater in the 1920s (e.g., for the National Theater in Prague) and in the 1930s (collaboration with the Liberated Theater). The architectural work will showcase several models and technical documentation from the Archive of Architecture and Construction of NTM, which manages the most extensive personal collection of this personality.
