The Italian Domus Academy announces the 4th year of its summer design competition for recent graduates or young architects. The theme of this year's competition is the design of waiting and stopping spaces in cities. This can include parking lots, meeting places, crossings... In other words, spaces where people pause for a short or longer time, which are often not well designed. Proposals are expected to range from the design of individual objects to urban planning solutions with broader relationships.

Participants do not have to be graduates of architectural schools - the competition is also open to students of fields that are more or less related to urbanism, such as sociology, economics, industrial design, etc.
Proposals must be submitted by September 15, 2006, to the address of Domus Academy.
Each participant will receive a 20% discount on tuition at Domus Academy (which amounts to €13,000 + VAT). The winner will even receive a 75% discount, while the author of the proposal that finishes second will study at a 50% discount. The discounts apply only to studies in 2007.
