Pardubice - In approximately a week, Pardubice will announce a public competition for the development of part of the Hůrka area. The winner will buy the right to build from the city for six years, during which time they must construct residential buildings. This was stated today by Deputy Mayor Helena Dvořáčková (ANO).

The conditions of the competition were approved by the councilors on Tuesday. Interested parties must present their construction plans to the city and must commit, among other things, to provide 100 apartments for rent for at least five years after the construction is completed. Until the construction is completed, the land will still belong to the city. The minimum price for the land will be determined by an expert assessment.

The city acquired the Hůrka area from the state in 1999. Part of it was previously purchased by entrepreneurs, and there is currently a hostel in the former barracks buildings. The city has been dealing with what to do with the area for several electoral terms.

They considered its remediation and then sale. In 2007, the company Eube sought the land, intending to build a smaller neighborhood there. However, the economic crisis followed, and the plans fell through. In recent years, the company Pernštejn City expressed interest in purchasing the land for 15 million crowns. The councilors did not approve the sale twice.

Before the last vote at the end of last year, two more interested parties came forward, Dušan Kačmarik from the company Altis CZ with a bid five million crowns higher. A group of other investors, including the company RD Rýmařov, also declared general interest.
