If you are a European architect and wish to design a national sports symbol, but do not particularly want to participate in the competition for the design of the new Camp Nou in Barcelona, you have another opportunity. In connection with the World Ski Championships in 2011, there is currently a competition for one of Norway's national symbols - the Holmenkollen ski jump in Oslo.

The competition is not only about the Holmenkollen jump (K 122), which has been modified or completely reconstructed 18 times since 1892 and where the Winter Olympics took place in 1952 as well as two World Championships (1966 and 1982), but also about another standard jump K 95 and the surrounding sports facilities, infrastructure, and amenities.
The organizer of the competition, the city of Oslo, expects an extraordinary result from the competition, a new modern icon that will refer to Oslo - the capital of winter sports.

Authorized architects can participate in the anonymous competition. The deadline is June 25, 2007. 2 million NOK (approximately 7 million CZK) is allocated for prizes and awards.
