Malostranské Square - competition conditions and documents

The City Hall of the Capital City of Prague announces a one-round urban-architectural competition for the conceptual design of the "Malostranské náměstí in Prague"

The subject of the competition is to create a conceptual architectural-urban design for the revitalization of Malostranské náměstí. The goal of the revitalization of the square is to create a public space of a representative and recreational character, which corresponds to its significance as one of the most important squares in Prague, where parking may also be included to a degree that is in line with this character. The aim of the conceptual architectural competition is to define the potential of the public space of the square.

The purpose and mission of the competition is to find and evaluate the most suitable solution for the subject of the competition, which will meet the requirements of the organizer contained in the competition conditions. This competition is announced with the aim of obtaining an evaluation of the potential of Malostranské náměstí and a wide spectrum of opinions on possibilities for its use.

Based on the results of the competition, the Institute of Planning and Development of the Capital City of Prague will recommend the selected proposal for realization to the organizer. Authors of awarded competition proposals may be commissioned to develop subsequent stages of the project documentation. The anticipated start of the modification works at Malostranské náměstí is in the year 2016.
