The house of the year has once again become a modular building from Canaba

Prague - The absolute winner of the 20th edition of the House of the Year 2013 poll, organized by the magazine Můj dům, is the Classic II model house from the construction and development company Canaba. The organizers announced the results of this year's edition last night.
    The company Canaba, which scored in previous years as well, won the readers' voting in the category of Model Houses, aided by the highest number of votes. The expert jury preferred the model house from the company Okal family homes.
    In the Individual Houses category, readers voted most for architect Jaroslav Kačer, while experts awarded the main prize to architect Vladimír Hipper.
    "The history of the competition results shows that while the expert jury usually appreciates exceptional, bold, and standout buildings, readers generally prefer houses that they might realistically consider acquiring and that they could actually achieve," the organizer stated in a press release.
    This year, both among readers and the expert jury, houses with simple, clean lines, geometric shapes, and flat or shed roofs were particularly favored.
    The competition for the best Czech family house is organized by the magazine Můj dům. The winner is decided by readers voting on the magazine's website or by sending a text message. In addition to the readers, an expert jury selects the winners in both categories.
