Offcity architekti: Anna Beata Háblová & Filip Landa

Architecture is alive in matter. In recent years, more has been happening in this field than ever before. A number of interesting buildings and new modifications of public spaces are emerging. Architecture is presented by both creators and critics and is the subject of professional and lay discussions. It is good that new buildings and new spaces evoke emotions; it is right that they are talked about, but... What does the current public and private debate on architecture look like? How are new realizations reflected in the media? Is there an internal professional critical discussion, or are architects just patting each other on the back? Who and how can educate the public in this regard? Can multi-criteria evaluation be applied to the area of construction and architecture? Is such evaluation accessible to the public? Are significant and existential contemporary themes adequately reflected by contemporary architects? Are they highlighted during the education of architects?
This year's cycle will be more discussion-oriented – during the evening, a pair of guests will meet, whose perspectives and experiences associated with the theme "Talking about Architecture" may be quite different. Our first guest will be architect, theorist, and poet Anna Beata Háblová, whom you may know from the morning broadcast on the radio station ČRo Vltava. Her sensitive reflections breathe life into the lifeless matter of architecture and bring its essence closer to a wide audience. The second of the duo will be Filip Landa, also an architect, publicist, and wanderer, who, after many years of collaboration with the professional magazine ERA21, became its editor-in-chief. ERA21, which is primarily targeted at the professional public, brings themes resonating in the current architectural happenings into the public space.
