Some time ago, I was approached to create the interior of offices and a showroom in the multifunctional building
Residence Sacre Coeur II (designed by
Schindler Seko Architects) for the development company Satpo, which decided to use its own construction as the company's headquarters.
I have encountered office creation multiple times during my work. My main motivation in creating the design is to establish a new space with an atmosphere beneficial not only to the feelings of the employees who spend most of their working day there but also, in this case, to clients and visitors of the showroom.
The realization of the area across two floors developed from the assignment and initial concepts to the actual move-in over the course of two years.
The building, considering that it is placed above a tunnel, has its specific structure, which significantly manifested itself in the interior. As a counterbalance to these technical elements, we primarily worked with soft colors, playful shapes, and natural motifs.
The entry level with a reception and meeting rooms serves as a presentation showroom and a communication space with the public.
The glazed gallery on the first floor above the showroom is utilized for office workstations and employee facilities.
It was quite complicated to deal with the low structural height of the office space. The ceiling made of white corrugated metal, which covers many technologies, was intentionally used for its ability to reflect light and create an impression of smooth movement. This shaping allowed the ceiling to be slightly raised in areas without installations. The space thus gained at least partially greater height and dynamics.
The material concept is created by combining plywood, glass, raw and lacquered metal sheets, white marble, and terrazzo. The tables in the meeting rooms made from solid oak boards with a specific wood scent are complemented by cladding and door panels made from old wooden beams. The airy white curtains form a contrast to the glass partitions and the concrete ceilings in the showroom. The color composition is made up of the opposition of pastel pink, blue, green, yellow, and snowy white to dark emerald green, bright red, and natural steel color.
The greenery placed in the showroom in atypically designed flower pots rises over two floors on structures made of steel cables.
The realization was nominated among the finalists of the Office of the Year 2017 competition.
