Family house on the slope above Radotín

The house is located on a sloping plot that marks the end of the development in the outskirts of a Prague district. The prominent southeast slope offers a panoramic view of the dominant structure of the Radotín Bridge and Zbraslav. The position of the plot, in close proximity to the forest and at the end of a dead-end street, guarantees tranquility in the vicinity of the building itself.
The plot is accessible from above, and upon entering the property, visitors are amazed by the views of the landscape. The massing solution is based on the morphology of the terrain. From the street, the house appears as a small single-story structure. A distinctive and somewhat extravagant feature is the roof covering over the parking spaces. The view from the lower part of the garden reveals that it is a two-story house, with the retreating floor levels following the contours of the terrain.
The views are integrated into the entire layout. Thanks to the sightline axis, the inhabitants of the house have a visual connection with the exterior from the very entrance and while descending the stairs into the living area. Maximum contact with the exterior is ensured by large glazed areas oriented to the southeast. These connect to outdoor terraces on both levels. Roof overhangs, combined with external blinds, eliminate potential overheating of the interior during the summer months. The entire house is resolved in a minimalist material way. The white façade is complemented by gray window frames and drainage elements executed in the same color. Wood is represented only in the atypical fencing at the entrance area. However, the texture of the wood permeates the entire house as an imprint of the formwork of the reinforced concrete ceilings.
