In the Kunc Architects Studio, we believe that the true aim of our lives is the search for happiness. Whether we are believers or not, we all seek something better in life. How does this relate to houses and architecture? Just as there are no perfect people or perfectly calculable projects, there is no single ideal family house that can be suitable for everyone. There is only a path. Our path at Kunc Architects Studio has been underway for many years: we diligently search, sketch, describe, discuss with ourselves and our clients, and create a philosophy of "family living that brings people a true Home". We want our houses to be comfortable and pleasant to live in. Only then is it architecture.

We have years and years of work behind us, many family houses, and thousands of hours of conversations, meetings, and exchanges of opinions. We design "architecture from the inside." We have created our own housing philosophy, a summary of positive experiences and smart ideas distilled from our previous houses and interiors. Certainly, this summary alone probably won't bring happiness to anyone. But it can bring a great result - a family house that gives its residents a true sense of Home. And with it, happiness. Because our architecture is mainly about living, and for us, living means home, a happy home. One of the latest realizations that fully embodies our concept is a family house in Křečovice.

The house in Neveklov works with the basic, archetypal form of a family house with a gabled roof. However, the interior hides a completely contemporary comfortable interior of a modern bungalow, an airy space full of light and views into the large garden. Compositionally, it consists of two buildings with the same roof slope and differing heights, slightly set apart and connected by a glazed neck. In two places, the house opens to the beams covered with white planks, in the living room and the end segment of the bedroom, which also allowed the shape of the house with a gabled roof to be imprinted into the glazed front of the bedroom.

The color composition of the house is very minimalist, drawing from our long-term inspiration from nordic style and Scandinavia. The house is black on the outside and predominantly white on the inside. The colors and design are created by details and furniture. The comfort of the house is enriched by a wood-burning fireplace and a multitude of pillows, blankets, and candles in lanterns. The house stands in a large old garden - a former orchard. The connection between the interior and exterior with large windows and terraces is the main motif of our concept of a family house that becomes Home. Therefore, this house is also composed in such a way that it minimally burdens the garden and over time becomes an integral part of it. In the design, we have thought a lot about the Japanese philosophy of Wabi-sabi, the beauty in imperfection. We acknowledge that the black facade will acquire a patina over time, will weather, the wooden terraces will turn silver, and the grass and meadow flowers will grow. And everything will beautifully connect and blend into one organic whole, the house and the place…

Structurally, it is a wooden building, a skeleton system with an installation partition. The facades, including the sloping roof, are constructed using an ancient Japanese technique, covered with hand-depth charred larch boards. To emphasize the minimalist expression of the house, we designed a hidden eaves gutter.

In the interior, the perimeter structures use boards painted white, the internal partitions are drywall, the floor is a poured cement screed, and in the bathrooms, wall finishes are used, with black-and-white tiles in one of the bathrooms.

All the furniture was designed as built-in to fit the interior: it is a combination of white lacquered MDF and natural oiled oak. Small contrasting details are black. In the bathrooms, the fixtures are in a matte black finish.
