Redesign of Universal Music's Prague Offices
The renovation of the Universal Music Group offices was a significant challenge. The largest music publisher is located in a four-story building in Prague's Dejvice district. The previous spaces were very closed off due to the original design of the residential building, and they were entirely unsuitable for the company's operations. However, the overall transformation is all the more apparent.

The new concept is primarily based on the comprehensive renovation of the entire entrance floor. It has been newly reconstructed with a focus on a large open space featuring the main meeting room and an overall design of the reception area. The reception has been visually connected by glazing with the entrance staircase, making this area more understandable and clearer. Its highlight is a glossy dichroic reception desk, which is now visible from all sides. The large meeting room has been successfully moved to the entrance from the second floor, making all functional connections more logical. A significant benefit of the newly relocated meeting room is its own entrance to a private garden in the courtyard. The garden is also accessible from the ground floor lobby.

Thanks to the use of large glazed partitions, all offices have become more open and interconnected. This has helped to brighten the interior, including the center of the layout, where small central HUBs have emerged on each floor—popular spots for formal and informal meetings. The basement has also been utilized in its new form, adding a club atmosphere with a smaller recording studio equipped with the necessary facilities.

A minimalist yet fresh impression, polished details, and overall timelessness are the main themes of the designed interior. A strong emphasis was placed on the selection of lighting fixtures. Equally important is the metal laminate, which, together with LED screens at the entrance and spiral staircase that traverses the entire building, underscores the more technical feel of the interior and demonstrates how the music industry has evolved in recent years.

The offices are designed in white-beige tones combined with warm wood, so their users feel at home. The interior is harmoniously complemented by large-format photographs of Universal Music artists, custom graphic decals, and atypical acoustic ceilings.

A comfortable and pleasant interior has been realized, blurring the line between a classic work environment and the feeling of home coziness. An office as a place for living.
