The family house DD is located on a plot with exceptional added value of the natural environment. We perceive it as a structure that "merges" with the land. The merging of architecture as a result of human activity and the natural environment becomes the main ideological starting point of the concept.
Another aspect creating the conceptual framework of the family house is the vertical layering; individual layers emerge as distinct entities with their unique characteristics. The "main" residential layer, in relation to the access courtyard, is defined by two horizontal reinforced concrete slabs that integrate the main living spaces of the house, as well as a double garage and hygienic and technical facilities.
The layer beneath the lower of the two slabs behaves as a separate exterior living space connected to the eastern "natural" part of the plot. A functional reference for this layer could be a summer kitchen. The living area with a wooden deck and an open fire pit of the outdoor fireplace is complemented by storage spaces and hygienic facilities. The “roof layer” represents an extensive green roof for living.
All layers in the vertical direction are connected by a patio with vertical communication in the form of a spiral steel staircase. The patio serves not only as a communication space but also has a daylighting function. It is connected to the hygienic facilities of the house, ensuring the possibility of natural ventilation and lighting without the need to perforate the northern side of the building.
The patio is complemented by three additional volume reductions defined by the slabs. These represent exterior living terraces and a covered entryway into the house. The exterior terraces are linked to the living hall and the master bedroom of the house owners. The central living space of the house is the aforementioned living hall, which is functionally divided into individual zones in the E-W direction. The living spaces are complemented by a guest room and a children's room with direct links to the entry areas and with their own hygienic facilities.
