Observation point Durch

On the hills above Valašské Příkazy, the Durch observation point has emerged. Durch is a tribute to the view of the landscape. It aims to encourage stopping and realizing this beauty. It also serves as a place for passersby to sit, for snacks, or as a shelter from bad weather. Close by, a spring has been restored with a picture of St. Francis, the patron of animals and nature conservation.

Architect Zdeněk Fránek designed the observation point as a "minimalist wooden structure with clean details without any prominent element. So that it is humble and primarily creates a view through it, which frames the landscape like the most beautiful picture."

The idea and realization of the observation point is backed by the family company Janošík, which produces windows at the foot of the hill where the Durch observation point is situated. "I was thinking about redesigning our billboards. Eventually, a desire for rebellion against polluted nature by advertisements merged with our corporate philosophy of clean views. Overnight, we eliminated all billboards and with the saved money, we started creating the Durch observation point – our tribute to undisturbed views," explains Jakub Janošík.
