Trojanovice, a mountain village where our studio collaborates in the role of the village architect. We received a challenging yet beautiful task: to reconstruct and expand the municipal building for the Czech grocery chain Hruška, for services, and at the same time create a new identity for the place to meet the needs of the citizens.
During the reconstruction of the historic building, craftsmen discovered the inscription "Restaurant," which we preserved and is a part of the entrance hallway. The extension is realized in a combination of concrete structures and glass surfaces. An optical connection between the services and the central part of the village of Trojanovice is designed. Parents can thus watch their children in front of the school directly from the grocery store. The attic space on the upper floor is illuminated through two longitudinal dormers and the original openings in the gables of the house. Here, various services are offered along with six rentable offices, which were fully occupied shortly after the completion of the construction.
