Congress Center of Spa Resort Lednice Hotel ****

The location is situated on the southeastern edge of the spa town of Lednice. The entire area is part of the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage. The romantic landscape, historical architecture linked to nature, as well as the compositional axes for views and landscapes, together create a harmonious whole, the atmosphere of which must be carefully preserved.

The construction of the congress center is conceived as a simple wooden structure. Functionally, it connects to the existing hotel, is composed as part of a new park, and through its pergola along its northern edge, links the hotel with the spa colonnade.

A lapidary space, glazed on three sides, in the shape of a long horizontal prism, oriented towards the park following the model of the castle's terraced hall, is complemented inside only by an elliptical service cell, inserted between the congress hall with foyer and the café.

The supporting structure is in harmony with the spatial concept. In the rhythm of transverse axes in a 4000 mm module, the wooden trusses span 9580 mm in the main nave and 2220 mm in the side nave – the area of the pergola covered with glass. The longitudinal axes supported by the trusses consist of a solid wall gradually from the north, a grid of reinforced concrete columns with a circular cross-section of 250 mm at the interface of the interior and the pergola space, all the way to the slender wooden vertical ends of the trusses at the edge of the base towards the park.

Everything under the shed roof is complemented by a softly shaped wooden acoustic ceiling, visible from the park through the glazed façade, connected to the northern perimeter wall with a joint of a long basilical window.
