Interior of the apartment, Brno - Královo Pole

I was invited by the architectural office Burian - Křivinka to collaborate on the interior design of a 3 + kk apartment at a time when the first stage of the construction of the residential and administrative complex Eden was being completed. The apartment stood out due to its exclusive location in the tower of the complex. The view inspired the owners and architects to change the original layout. The bathroom was moved from the center of the layout to the perimeter of the building, thus creating a block of private spaces with a fascinating view together with the bedroom.
From the beginning, it was clear that the apartment would serve the owners only as occasional housing during their stay in Brno, and this fact was reflected in the arrangement of the layout. The bathroom is accessible only from the bedroom, thus creating an intimate part of the apartment along with it. The study and living room with a kitchenette can serve for informal meetings.
The character of the furnishings and the subtle color scheme of the apartment indicate that a man formulated the brief. The bathroom and toilet in gray tones correspond with the natural linoleum floor in concrete shade, while the details in wenge veneer enliven the space. Beige lacquered elements of the built-in parts contrast with the dark veneered furniture. The glass backsplash behind the kitchen reflects incoming light and enlivens the interior with mirrored effects. The window sills match the color of their frames. The unobtrusive color scheme of the interior is complemented by doors made of birch veneer.
The client's and architect's requirements demanded an individual approach from the craftsmen, so the owner, in collaboration with the architect, carried out most of the finishing work in the apartment himself with selected suppliers, independent of the construction of the entire house. Thanks to a cultured and patient client, a relatively generous interior could thus be created.
