conceptfaith in God — grave as a meeting place — resting place for the living and the dead — care for the grave as a time for contemplation — transience — flow — eternity

The task was to design a family grave located at the corner of two alleys in the Říčany cemetery. The advantage was the possibility of working with the space of two grave plots placed behind each other. The end location and the area of this space thus conditioned the resulting composition of materials and the need to define itself in relation to the nearby turning alley. The choice of light stone was a kind of transcription of the person with whom the family is parting and a partially materialized memory of them. The chosen method of processing the stone intentionally allows space for time and nature; the future weathering of the rock is intentional and is an integral part of the entire design.
Transience is a property of everything that will inevitably cease to exist at some point. The transience of things and states is thus closely tied to time, whose flow reveals it. Transient are, for example, people, living creatures, and material things, but perhaps even the entire universe.Eternity is the property of what exists forever, without temporal limitation.Time as a promise of God's eternity. The English translation is powered by AI tool.
