Hesperia Tower Hotel

In a five-star hotel on the outskirts of Barcelona, there are 280 luxury rooms, 19 suites with a hot tub directly in the bedroom, and one presidential suite. Over an area of more than 5,000 m², there is also a conference and sports center. The hotel project with a dome on the roof comes from Lord Richard Rogers and two Catalan architects, Luis Alonso and Sergi Balaguer. In the glass UFO on the roof, Santi Santamaria operates his restaurant, the first Catalan chef to earn five stars from the Michelin Guide. The associated conference center makes the hotel a multifunctional complex breaking away from the Barcelona standard. Meeting rooms are illuminated by natural light, the auditorium accommodates more than 500 attendees, and the large hall, covering 1614 m², can host up to 1600 people. Due to its easy accessibility, the Hesperia Tower press, business, and sports center will soon become a significant landmark in Barcelona.

- the hotel was originally scheduled to open in the spring of 2004. Due to problems during the foundation, the completion date was extended by two years.
- the building has two vertical communication cores (the southern communication core with floors of glass and steel and the service core with freight elevators to the north).
- a five-story glass hall connects the conference center with the hotel.
- the panoramic restaurant (with a diameter of 24 meters and a weight of 32 tons) was transported to the hotel roof by a special crane with a total capacity of 800 tons. The same crane was used during the construction of Torre Agbar and the church Sagrada Família.
- the outdoor staircase strongly resembles Lloyd’s Bank in London.
