The fire station in Palkovice is located along the right bank of the Olešná River, near the church and the cinema building. It is one of the most important and valuable structures in the central part of the village. The building serves the local voluntary fire brigade, which has a great historical tradition that continues to this day. We proposed a reconstruction of the original building and an extension above the existing garages. The buildings were connected by a glass bridge.
We unified the original object with a new plaster, a new roof, and the replacement of wooden windows. The interior was adapted for the association's clubrooms. A rental apartment was retained on the ground floor. The new part of the building is constructed as a wooden structure made of solid panels, featuring a ventilated wooden façade made of larch boards in the exterior. It includes a universal meeting room, social facilities, and a side entrance to the building.
The fire station is the first realization of our studio in collaboration with the village in the past period. Currently, we have developed studies for the village center, the façade of the church in Myslík, and a new bridge near the fire station.
