When you climb to the peaks of the mountains, be prepared for the wind. But there is also a beautifully blue sky and cold. The Czech investment boutique Fidurock is rising in new offices designed by Barbora Léblová Interiors & Architecture.
Fidurock focuses on real estate investments: in retail parks in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, as well as residential properties in urban centers such as Prague, Bratislava, Brno, or Olomouc. The offices in the Flow Building on Wenceslas Square, a top address for Czech business, were meticulously thought out, drawn, and brought to completion by Barbora Léblová.
Dove Blue at the PeaksWhat color is the sky at the top of the mountains? How do we reach the peak? And what kind of environment do we want to have in the office where we spend a lot of time? These were all questions for Barbora Léblová, who designed a very playful interior on one side, but also captures attention with carefully selected materials, colors, and a prominently designed wall art.
"The founders of Fidurock love the mountains. Climbing to heights and being in the wild is in their DNA. This is reflected not only in their business, where they go step by step along complex paths to the summit, but also in the brief on how their offices should look," says Barbora Léblová.
Right at the beginning of the collaboration, the client also expressed the need for a fundamental change in the color scheme and atmosphere of the interior. The previous offices, which Bára created for Fidurock in light oak and white tones, suddenly seemed somewhat conservative to the ever-young team at Fidurock, and employees appealed for an unconventional color solution.
Three Elements Let’s combine the power of the mountains and business. Let’s bring the values of the development firm into the interior. Paths to the peak. Paths to the sky. What elements did Barbora Léblová incorporate into Fidurock's offices? The calm strength is dove blue, complemented by wall illustrations from Jakub Bachorík. He playfully depicts, in a pop art style, the cable cars leading to the mountain peaks: not only the business ones but also the real ones. Gray-silver carpets on the floor reference the mountains, rocks, and the essence of the investor's business.
"I have seen Fidurock from the start of our collaboration as strong climbers who are going step by step upward. They set up a base camp, move on… Figuratively speaking: they put on metal crampons, stake their ice axes, and go higher," says interior designer Barbora Léblová.
This approach is reflected in the color scheme of the interiors, which cover an area of 360 m2 in the Flow office building on Wenceslas Square.
"Fidurock are, for me, passionate people who not only climb mountains. They were clear about how their offices should look. I had full trust and creative freedom," adds Barbora Léblová.
Composition And how does the whole composition of the space work?
"Blue is the color of the sky that surrounds the peaks of the mountains. It is a color that calms and simultaneously brings strength. That is the first element I brought into the office interiors. The meeting rooms named Triglav and Mont Blanc also refer to climbing routes," says Bára. The blue is complemented by gray and black, with a harmonious addition in the form of walnut veneer in the interior. The wood and its texture, combined with the curtains and the subdued colors of the interior, create a calming impression.
Original Illustrations The walls of the offices are adorned with original illustrations from Jakub Bachorík, who graduated from the Studio of Illustration and Graphic Design at UMPRUM. Jakub focuses on illustrations for posters, magazines, books, and comics. He is a passionate fan of science fiction, bizarre narratives, and mysterious worlds… And this is clearly reflected in his wall design for Fidurock. Observant viewers will notice references to other business activities of the Fidurock group: in addition to real estate, they operate a unique audio & cinema showroom VOIX in the center of Prague. And in Slovenia, they run the Zlati Grič winery: a place with a golf course among the vineyards, apartments in a 15th-century wine estate. Can you find the references on the walls?
Working with artistic originals is a hallmark of Barbora Léblová's creations, and the Fidurock offices are no exception. A striking painting by Milan Houser dominates the interior of the meeting room. The blue-gray combination of the interior with walnut veneers in Barbora Léblová's designs is a calming and straightforward example of contemporary office design. It does not ride a hype wave but climbs steadily step by step to the summit.
