House V

House V
Address: Bratislava, Slovakia
Project:2015
Completion:2015-17
Area:94 m2
Built Up Area:62 m2

Gardening colonies in Bratislava are experiencing uncontrollable changes. Illegal constructions, spontaneous extensions, apartment buildings, villas, gardeners, and odd characters among it all. A client with a family (2+1) knowingly joined this game. The benefit is country living two kilometers from the center. The plot is an old riverbed.
The house is located on a slope, below the level of the access road, serving as a descent to the garden. The volume is a two-story box (9.3x6.6x6.6), where only the outer walls are load-bearing. A box with openings for light and air, nothing more. Inside there are 5 small rooms, each with a different window. Their number, size, height, and feelings within them vary. The daytime area is on the upper floor - closer to the street with views of the surroundings, while the nighttime area with space for yoga is down on the ground - by the garden.
The interior has a hard shell of reinforced concrete ceilings, unplastered walls made of concrete blocks, and floors of poured epoxy. All dividing partitions are soft, wooden. The floors are interconnected by a circular steel staircase. The rest of the interior is inhabited and homely.
