To realize the proposal of Jan Kubíček in Kolín, Mr. Tomáš Benák, a Prague collector of his work, initiated the process. He first approached architect Fránek and then Kubíček's hometown with an offer to finance the realization of one of the artist's designs. The specific selection was made by the author of the realization, architect Fránek, with the approval of the heirs. He also determined the suitable location - the upper end of Husovo Square. The modernist object will thus terminate the longitudinal axis created by the functionalist church at the lower end of the square and the Bílka sculpture of Jan Hus in its center. The creation of the sculpture was financed by Mr. Tomáš Benák, while the landscaping and foundation laying were covered by the city of Kolín, thus claiming the legacy of another of its famous natives. The production of the object was carried out in the workshop of Mr. Václav Svoboda and his son in Ždírec near Havlíčkův Brod.
