Biography
Saša Janez Maechtig studied under prof. Edvard Ravnikar at the Faculty of Architecture in Ljubljana. He taught industrial design at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design. He was a member of the jury for the Red Dot Design Award. In 1967, he designed the modular kiosk K67, which is also part of the collection of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York. He also designed the Pavilion of Café Evropa and other street furniture such as trash cans or telephone booths. His son is the architect Tomaž Maechtig.
