The first PechaKucha Night (PKN) of this year opens at Depo2015! On February 20, 2015, at 20:15, we will be a part of the opening of the Festival of Lights and we plan to be bigger than ever before. This time you can look forward to 12 fantastic guests and a glimpse into the plans for 2015. “We are glad to open DEPO2015, it’s a space we have been planning for 2 years since we learned it would be available; it’s also one of the outcomes of our collaboration with Plzeň 2015,” says Jakub Mareš from the group k světu.. Thanks to a video hangout, we will connect for the second time with the founders of PKN in Tokyo. Among the speakers are the Japanese artist Hiroko Matsushita, photographer Vendula Knopová, the illustration duo David Böhm and Jiří Franta, and the exceptional graphic designer Petr Babák. The afterparty will be led by The Love Songs Orchestra together with DJ Gadjo.cz Alice Slavíčková from the PechaKucha Night team adds: “We strive to connect people in an original way and show them forgotten places in Plzeň. So far we have been successful in discovering new personalities, spaces, and with them new challenges, which is what we enjoy the most about this work.” List of speakers: Hiroko Matsushita, Vendula Knopová, David Böhm and Jiří Franta, Adam Havlovic, Lukáš Kordík and Števo Polakovič / GutGut, Petr Babák / Laboratoř, Jan Alex Jindrák / Urban Expedition, Jan Gemrot, Ondřej Frunc, and Cyril Holub, Martin Jaroš, G. Matušková, Š. Svoboda, Š. Kuczman, David Černý. PechaKucha Night is an event that takes place simultaneously in many locations around the world, bringing interesting topics in an original format. Each speaker has 20 seconds x 20 slides for their presentation. The result is an intense charge of information, without unnecessary chatter. Tickets will be available from January 20, 2015 (for the price of 150 CZK or 200 CZK), with the option to purchase on-site before the event starts.
