Xella Drywall Systems has been named Fermacell since June 2009

In the Czech Republic, Xella Trockenbau-Systeme GmbH, organizational unit Prague, will be renamed to Fermacell GmbH, organizational unit Prague. The product brand of gypsum fiberboards Fermacell is thus also the new trade name of the company. The firm will continue to be part of the Xella Gruppe.
 
“The name change brings us a clear and understandable connection to our main and well-established brand in the market,” says Miloš Kincel, director of Fermacell GmbH, organizational unit Prague. “Brand recognition of Fermacell is very high among professionals - Fermacell is not just a well-known brand, but also synonymous with gypsum fiberboards as such. A unified name for the product and company facilitates further internationalization of the business - the Fermacell brand is established and recognized in other countries as well. In communication, Fermacell GmbH will act as part of the Xella Gruppe."
 
Gypsum fiberboards from Fermacell are now often used in areas such as traditional prefabricated wooden buildings. However, due to their static parameters and excellent fire resistance, they are also suited for multi-story buildings (even based on wooden structures), extensions of residential buildings, or for non-residential buildings such as schools, hospitals, or administrative buildings. The production program of Fermacell GmbH also includes cement-bonded boards Powerpanel intended for use on facades or in wet areas.
