Saint-Gobain Construction Products CZ a.s. Rigips

Rigips's manufacturing plant, which produces drywall panels, has already entered its eleventh year of production. Rigips, Ltd. manufactures and supplies not only drywall and fiber gypsum systems to the Czech market, but also polystyrene insulation and Rimano gypsum plasters and finishes.
Currently, the Rigips plant produces not only standard drywall panels but also impregnated panels for spaces with increased humidity, pink fire-resistant panels, and also impregnated fire-resistant panels. The panels are available on our market in widths of 1200, 1250 mm, and lengths from 2,000 to 3,200 mm.
In August 1997, the construction of a greenfield manufacturing plant began in the cadastral area of Horní Počaply near Mělník. After less than two years, the first drywall panel was produced on May 8, 1999.
The plant is based on the latest technologies and, thanks to constant development, proactive management, and the involvement of all employees, it has become a world-class manufacturing plant.

Evidence includes a bronze award in 2007 as part of the World Class Manufacturing (WCM) audit. Obtaining this title has positioned the company among the top manufacturing plants in the global Saint-Gobain group. The management approach of the plant is focused on leading employees, promoting progressive methods in production with an emphasis on continuous improvement of all parameters of the production cycle, beginning with workplace safety and ending with customer satisfaction.
Continuous reduction of production costs, improvement of safety standards, professional maintenance, and development of human resources are just some of the many pillars that create a complete summary of the World Class Manufacturing program activities.
A great emphasis on adhering to environmental protection standards and a safety management system according to 22 corporate standards has also borne fruit – the plant in Horní Počaply has already celebrated more than 8 years without an accident in the production and distribution of drywall.
Radomír Kamler, the director of the manufacturing plant, also comments on the amount of drywall panels produced: “In 10 years we have produced more than 172 million m² of drywall panels. If we stacked them end to end, we could circle the planet 3.5 times.” He adds: “I do not see the benefit of our work solely in large-scale panel production, but primarily in streamlining work in construction through modern dry construction systems.”
The Czech Construction Academy confirmed his opinion by awarding Rigips's safety structures with a Bronze Award in the Building Product – Technology of the Year 2008 competition.
Drywall and fiber gypsum systems have been applied over the years in numerous significant industrial and commercial buildings, apartment and family houses. Technical support accompanies the installation of structures. Rigips provides technical literature for dry construction to a differentiated group of users – designers and architects, assembly and execution companies, and also for the general public. The Rigips Technical Support Center, which is a specialized technical center, addresses information and technical consulting for all of the company's customers.
