This standalone family house is situated in a rural environment on the outskirts of a small residential development near Leipzig. Its unmistakable character is given by the cladding of fiber-cement facade panels Eternit EQUITONE.

The three-story building is set into the eastern slope. From the ground level, where the garage entrance is located, stairs lead to the first floor. The piano nobile houses the living spaces, which open into the inner courtyard, and an extensive south-facing terrace with a pool and garden. The top floor is reserved for quiet rest in the bedrooms. The central courtyard connects all levels and visually integrates all parts of the building. The changing seasons can be observed by the inhabitants on the deciduous tree that grows in its center.
The construction of the passive house is clad with large-format EQUITONE [tectiva] fiber-cement facade panels. The courtyard facade cladding is in pure white to maximize the reflection of daylight. The subdued white coloring of the fiber-cement panels on the outer facades corresponds with the surrounding fields and rural landscape. On the roof, the desired contrast is provided by the black EQUITONE [textura] fiber-cement panels, which also emphasize the overall impression of the materially uniform envelope of the house.
Beneath the large-format cladding is a waterproofing membrane. The solar system and skylights are recessed into the roof plane. The garage door is also clad in fiber-cement panels, allowing it to blend with the facade.
The building is an impressive testament to meticulous execution and an extraordinary feel for detail. Its understated color and precision
of details have made it a proud part of the surrounding environment.
