Czech manufacturer of wooden windows and doors for passive houses Slavona scores with its latest evolution PROGRESSION PLUS sliding doors HS PORTAL. In addition to gaining the prestigious Passivhaus Institute certificate in Darmstadt at level phA, where only three other competing products from Germany and Austria have been certified so far, Slavona has also advanced to the finals of the Eco Oskar competition.

The town of Slavonice is full of beautiful views. It is therefore almost symbolic that one of the leading manufacturers of exceptionally high-quality windows is based here. Their exceptional quality lies not only in the minimalist, tasteful design with frameless glazing that elevates the overall character of almost any house. These massive sliding doors open surprisingly easily, but when closed, they meet the strictest criteria for energy-efficient homes.

When we launched the PROGRESSION windows in 2012, we did not anticipate the production of complex assemblies, low door sills, etc. But in the end, the interest from builders in this type of window was great, and our development team had to come up with a special solution, as well as conceive the construction of the HS portal PROGRESSION sliding doors,” explains Zora Stupňánková.

The result is sliding doors with excellent thermal insulation, plenty of light and solar gains, and comfortable operation that refreshes any construction with its minimalist modern concept.

The biggest challenge was to achieve the phA efficiency category of the HS sliding door frame and, in particular, to meet the temperature factor at the junction of the fixed and sliding parts. We evaluated a number of variants with the aim of not adding anything unnecessary that would complicate production and unnecessarily raise the price for the end customer. The resulting variant meets this with flying colors. The functions of the individual parts of the HS portal are perfectly aligned - excellent thermal insulation properties, clean design, and low visible height while maintaining static stiffness. Additionally, a completely maintenance-free execution using composite strips,” explains specialist Juraj Hazucha.
