The trend of the present is interiors full of natural light. However, not only sunlight can create glossy reflections on classic lacquered floors, distorting the perception of their color and appearance. That is why the Swedish manufacturer of Kährs wooden floors developed a special ultra-matte lacquer that does not reflect incoming light rays, but rather effectively absorbs them. This allows the beauty of the color hue and the natural appearance of the floor to stand out, as is the case with the Kährs Lux and Lumen three-layer wooden floor collections. Thanks to the non-reflective ultra-matte lacquer, they give the impression of being made from untreated, raw wood.

In addition to this effect, the Lux and Lumen collections are special for another reason: one decor has been produced with a different number of planks - the Lux collection is 1-plank, while the Lumen collection has two and three planks. In different-sized spaces where you need to work with varying formats of flooring, you do not have to compromise on the design requirement of a single decor, as the Lux and Lumen floors allow you to do just that. "Generally speaking, large formats stand out in larger spaces, while 3-planks in a huge room can feel fragmented, breaking up the space. Conversely, when you lay 1-plank, meaning large boards, in a small room, the space appears smaller. Of course, it's a matter of personal taste. Therefore, the advantage of the Lux and Lumen collections is that they offer one decor in three formats, allowing the customer to choose the implementation that best suits their optical perception,” summarized the advantages of the Lux and Lumen collections Milan Mrkáček, the regional sales manager of Kratochvíl parket profi.

Ultra-matte lacquer from the Swedish manufacturer Kährs also successfully combines the benefits of easy maintenance of lacquered floors with the advantages of the natural look of oiled coverings, which are very popular, but some customers fear the demanding maintenance of oiled coverings. Although the finish in ultra-matte lacquer creates the impression that the floor is made from raw wood, there is a strong but invisible layer of lacquer on the surface that protects the floor from wear and tear. Thus, while the surface appears untreated, it is pleasant to the touch and when walking, durable, and easy to maintain.

Identical color decors in two versions of the Lux and Lumen collections

Both the Lux and Lumen collections are available from milky white tones to smoky and dark brown shades. In terms of structure, they are not completely pure decors, rather in the middle range. The 1-plank Lux collection consists of 8 oak and 2 ash decors. All floors in this collection feature micro-beveled edges, which emphasize individual planks, and are brushed, a technique in which the soft parts of the wood between the hard growth rings are brushed away, highlighting the wood's structure in the flooring. The flooring made from rare, almost scarce ash wood is among the lightest in the Lux collection due to the white stain.

The Lumen collection duplicates all eight oak decors from the Lux series in two or three plank versions, lacking only the ash decors. This makes it possible to lay both collections in the same space depending on its size and create a uniform area: the 1-plank version of the Lux collection in larger rooms, allowing nearly two and a half-meter boards to stand out (plank size 2420 x 187 x 15 mm), and the smaller 3-planks from the Lumen collection in a smaller room.
