The new collection of floor coverings KPP Euphoria attracts not only with its eight oak decors featuring a real wood structure but also with its water resistance, which generally encourages a return to laminate floors. In the past, they did not get along well with water and therefore suffered from a decline in customers to water-resistant vinyl and SPC floors. However, the KPP Euphoria collection from Kratochvíl parket profi prevents water from seeping into the joints and thus damaging the flooring with its special hydrophobic coating on the megaloc aqua protect joints. The guaranteed 24-hour resistance to direct water exposure has also been verified in tests by the North American institution NALFA. The fifth generation of the megaloc aqua protect lock also allows for the snapping of planks on the short side from above, significantly speeding up and simplifying the installation.

“Water resistance has already become a standard feature of our laminate floor coverings,” confirms Milan Mrkáček, head of regional sales at Kratochvíl parket profi (KPP), which is the author of the new collection, and continues: “Many people previously had laminate floors at home and knew that if they spilled a plant or placed snow-covered shoes on the floor, it would lead to damage of the covering. With these experiences, they subsequently sought a floor that would resist water and found it in vinyls and modern SPC coverings. KPP now shows customers that water resistance need not be the privilege of SPC or vinyls and that they have another option to choose from, namely a laminate floor designed for these common accidents, such as a spilled refrigerator. Additionally, a significant benefit of laminates is also the price, which is about half that of SPC coverings.”
While in the area of technological improvements, the KPP Euphoria collection of water-resistant coverings excels and is a fireworks display of innovations, from a design perspective, it marks a return to calm decor waters for the conservative customer. It includes eight oak decors in more muted shades of brown, with the possible exception of the bleached Romero Oak. “The collection confirms a return from truly rustic decors to more decent, cleaner ones. Previously, decors competed over how many cracks they would have, vying in the quantity of knots and color differences, KPP Euphoria, in contrast, is a decent, more conservative collection. Thanks to the synchrostructure technology surface, the wooden decors are very realistic, indistinguishable from real wood at first glance. But they are intended for a more conservative customer. After a wave of wild rustic decors, there is a trend towards a return to calm, cleaner decors,” continues Milan Mrkáček from KPP.
The surface of laminate coverings was previously not damaged by water, but H2O was able to seep through the joints of the planks and damage the core (support board) of the covering, which swelled and deformed. Such damage was often irreparable and could also the result in mold in the floor. Technological improvements of laminate coverings thus focused on the protection of the joints. “The joints of the planks have a different shape in the grooves, which makes it difficult for water to penetrate, the modified HDF support board has increased water resistance, but primarily the joints have a special impregnating coating that prevents water seepage for 24 hours,” lists Milan Mrkáček from KPP. Thus, laminate coverings can finally “go” into bathrooms, as immediate contact with water will not result in damage to the covering, provided the water is wiped up within 24 hours. The installation in the bathroom only requires the use of an expansion foam seal at the wall, and KPP recommends installing the Green Prestige baseboards with higher water resistance for a fully water-resistant solution to prevent water from seeping along the walls.
In addition to water resistance, the new KPP Euphoria collection also offers increased scratch resistance due to the new LLT anti-scratch technology in the form of a reinforced top layer of the covering or the LLT anti-static surface, which prevents the creation of dust bunnies. “It is typical for laminate coverings to build up an electrostatic charge that acts like a magnet for dust. The coverings from the new KPP Euphoria collection have a special LLT anti-static treatment that prevents the build-up of electric charges and inhibits the accumulation and concentration of dust,” describes the benefit for allergy sufferers, Milan Mrkáček from KPP.
The new KPP Euphoria laminate flooring collection is a perfect and comprehensive solution for bathrooms, kitchens, children, or pets. The coverings are so durable that they belong to class AC5, meaning they can withstand high loads in commercial spaces such as restaurants or offices. From an installation perspective, they do not require a substrate to be “mirror-like,” unlike vinyls, allowing for quick installation. The fifth generation of the megaloc aqua protect lock enables the snapping of planks on the short side from above, rather than at an angle, significantly speeding up and simplifying the installation.
