The Euroluce lighting fair, part of the famous Salone del Mobile, brought a host of innovations also in the range of manufacturers like Marset, Fritz Hansen, or Tonone.
MARSET
The new pendant light Bohemia by Marset has a poetic name. And although it is the work of Spanish designer Joan Gaspar, he managed to capture the character of the fixture quite well. Its oversized design with a diameter of over half a meter makes it a striking object. The semi-transparent shade in red, green, or blue is not made of glass due to its size; instead, it is made from the much more practical, lighter, and shatterproof polycarbonate that faithfully mimics glass.
Movement is the main asset of the Milana pendant lights. The modular suspension system allows the fixtures to move both horizontally and vertically. This is aided by a counterweight located at the end of the suspension system. The simple cylindrical shape of the shade complements the narrow cylindrical body with a built-in LED module. Milana offers a choice of several sizes and a black or white variant.
The sophisticated, ultra-thin collection of lights Ginger now comes in a metal version made of polished brass. It offers three color options: gold, black, and white across many types of fixtures, from pendants to table lamps. The material is new, but the properties remain. Thus, Ginger continues to boast warm indirect lighting that is non-glare, highlighting and decorating the interior at the same time. Thanks to its unique suspension, Ginger can now also be installed in rich groupings of up to 19 lights.
The table lamp Bolita invites touch with its organic shape. By sliding the opal diffuser across the base, you not only move the light but also dim or brighten it to various levels depending on where you move it. The clever system hides an LED module with an extraordinary light effect, which is unusually mechanical rather than electronic.
The Dipping Light series of lamps is characterized by a color effect created by repeatedly dipping a glass sphere in color. The layers of color create concentric circles that gradually adjust the intensity of the light. The color itself thus doubles as a shade coloring the light. Handcrafted production makes each piece of Dipping Light a unique original. This year, the Dipping Light collection also added pendant lights in several sizes, various types of wall lights, and an original rechargeable table lamp. Thanks to its unique suspension, pendant types can also be newly installed in rich groupings of up to 19 lights.
With its shape and size, the standing lamp LaFlaca can resemble a screen. It can naturally divide the space like a delicate, semi-transparent partition, emitting soft light around it. The textile shade surrounds a slender metal frame, and inside it hides a large round light source, which you can only see when it is lit. The geometric shape of LaFlaca fixtures offers 3 sizes, 2 colors, and is suitable for both interior and exterior.
At first glance, Vetra may seem like a traditional chandelier made of blown glass. However, when lit, it surprises with a modern interpretation. As a novelty, the manufacturer Marset has prepared Vetra in a sparkling orange color. Designer Joan Gaspar played with its shape and created a unique, completely closed glass diffuser that also functions as a reflector. Vetra shines by reflection, providing much more light, completely without glare. The vast majority of the light is directed downwards, while the remainder passes up into the opal shade and gently glows through it. The manufacturer offers it as a table lamp, floor lamp, or pendant light.
FRITZ HANSEN
The inspiration for the Suspence light is the transformation of movement into a physical form. The shape of the fixture originates from the basic movement caused by gravitational force - a pull downwards. Gravity visibly elongated the upper part of the light, which forms a unified whole with the cable, without the slightest interruption. The novelty from Fritz Hansen includes 2 new color variants - burgundy and pearl beige.
The design of the Planner table lamp was created in the 1950s by American designer Paul McCobb, and this year, this timeless design is being brought to market. The simple yet thoughtful and practical shape of the lamp, emerging from Scandinavian style, proves that simplicity is beautiful in itself. Through the opal glass diffuser, the lamp emits soft diffused light. The metal base is available in brass or black. And even though the fixture is small, it makes a big impression.
TONONE
A new addition to the collection from the Dutch manufacturer Tonone is the Beads series of lights. A simple circle, evenly glowing across its surface, is a characteristic element of these fixtures. You can choose from pendant, wall, and standing lamps, all in black, typical of Tonone's industrial designs.
