The Domesi Concept House concept will expand with another house

At the end of the year, the Domesi Concept House family will grow with another addition. It will be the model house Futura NEO, which will rise in Budíkov u Humpolce, in the picturesque environment of the Vysočina region.

Domesi Concept House 2 will be built to passive standard using massive wooden panel construction technology. The ceremonial orientation of the house and the commencement of construction took place in early May, when the managing directors of Prodesi and Domesi, Pavel Horák and Václav Zahradníček, ceremonially laid the foundation beam of this house. Its completion is planned for the end of 2015, and it will welcome its first visitors in the first half of 2016.

Domesi Concept House 2 will be quite different from its predecessor, and among other things, it will be a passive house. The principle of a passive house is now generally known and is based on utilizing passive heat gains from solar radiation and combining them with energy emitted by people and appliances. The annual heat consumption is a maximum of 15 kWh per m2 of area. This will also be the case for the house in Budíkov. Just as we aimed to dispel fears about modern wooden buildings with the first Domesi Concept House, with Domesi Concept House 2, we want to dispel fears about passive houses. We want to show that they are no longer unappealing laboratories where living is difficult. Domesi Concept House 2 will have all the attributes and qualities of Domesi wooden buildings, with a refined interior and comfort that belongs to Domesi.

In our specific case, we positioned the house on the plot to make the best use of thermal gains from solar energy. The part of the house with the largest glass area is oriented to the south with a slight deviation to the southeast. This orientation allows for the installation of photovoltaics, which is a renewable energy source.
The natural circulation of air will be managed by a recuperative unit with a heat pump, which will also ensure hot water preparation. All interested parties will thus be able to try out this much-discussed technology for themselves and freely form their own opinions.
