How We Cladded the Chestnut Tree or 5 Steps to a Stylish and Functional Building

The brief was clear: "We need to quickly clad the administrative building and the new showrooms. We are a design center, so please pay attention to both appearance and quality." Many would be intimidated by this. But for us at Ruukki, it wasn't a challenge, just our daily routine. How do we handle such briefs from clients? Read our 5 simple points.


Decades of experience and a Nordic emphasis on quality have made us reliable partners not only for the Brno design center. When carrying out orders, we use our own products - sandwich panels, facade claddings, as well as complete facade systems, design profiles, and load-bearing profiles. All facade systems come with roofing elements and anchoring materials, making their installation fast and easy.

The Kaštanová Center has been largely equipped with silver sandwich panels. They are made of an insulating core and two layers of decorative steel sheet with a colored surface finish. Thus, the panels act as an excellent self-supporting thermal insulator for a single-layer facade. Part of the showroom facades of the Kaštanová Center consists of panels Liberta Elegant 500 anchored to sandwich panels in the configuration of Ruukki Forma. These are executed with a surface treatment HIARC in a gold metallic color RR42. Liberta panels are also available in Cor-Ten, titanium zinc, copper, bronze, and brass finishes, so they require no surface treatments.

We manufacture our panels and cassettes in many color finishes. This allows them to adapt to the surrounding character of the building and create an interesting design element. The Kaštanová Center is complemented well by a combination of metal and gold. However, color variety is not the only aspect appreciated by aesthetes. Facade cassettes can also be obtained in versions with various perforation patterns, and even backlighting.
